2013 Blog Review

I just checked my dashboard.  I can't believe that there were 247,000 page views last year!  A more than five-fold increase over 2012.  I am truly humbled and grateful!

Most Page Views

For the second year in a row, Crock Pot Boneless Country Style Ribs was the most popular post.  This recipe received 155,000 page views!

Coming in a very distant second, with almost 12,000 page views, Crock Pot Boneless Beef Short Ribs.

And finally, a dessert recipe!  The third most-popular post, with almost 7,000 page views,  Sea Salt Caramel Rice Krispy Treats.  This is definitely one of my favorite recipes from 2013.

The first time I made them, I scorched them.  They were still fabulous!

Audience

For the third year in a row, the country with the most page views was the U.S., of course.  This year, however, the country with the second-greatest number of page views was

Canada!

My Personal Favorite Post

It's only appropriate that my favorite post from 2013 is

Selfie.  How I wish I had started blogging when my kids were younger.

Thank you for visiting!
Happy 2014!

2012 Blog Review

I just compared the numbers on my dashboard to last year's stats and I'm totally astounded by how much this li'l old blog has grown!

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that there would be over 43,000 page views, a more than four-fold increase over last year.  I do imagine there are a lot of people having a good laugh over my horrible photography skills.

Most Page Views

With over 12,000 page views (!!!) this was by far the most popular post.  The next most-viewed post, Prosciutto & Mozzarella Asparagus Wraps was a very distant second, with just over 600 page views.

Audience

Just like last year, the majority of page views are from the U.S.  But unlike last year--when the second greatest amount of page views came from Russia--the country with the second-most page views this year was

France.  Ooh-la-la!

My Personal Favorite Post

This was an easy choice for me.  Hands-down, my favorite post was
Dogs: Past, Present and Future .  If my kids were younger, they would be a great source of inspiration for my blog posts; since they are of an age where they would be mortified if I told the world any details of their lives, however, I have to settle for writing about my next-favorite subject:  my dogs.  Lucky for me that they don't object!

Happy 2013!!!

THANK YOU

Now and then I enjoy looking at the stats for my blog.

I have always loved numbers, always loved math.  My favorite subject, by far.  Numbers are quantifiable, concrete methods of measuring, evaluating, determining.  (And the math geek in me is screaming to clarify that I am talking about real numbers and not imaginary ones.)  Nothing ambiguous about them.  Nothing left open to interpretation.  Two plus two will always be four.  The cubed root of 125 will always be 5.

Corresponding parts of congruent triangles will always be congruent.  Just had to throw my favorite theorem at you, even though it's not a number.

Looking at my stats, I can see which posts get the most traffic.  I can see how many hits I get by country, by search keywords, by referring sites.  I'm fascinated.

I started this blog as a vehicle of organizing my recipes for my friends.  I was spending way too much time emailing recipes.  Sheila was the one who finally said, "Have you ever thought of putting this on a blog?"  Who knew that such a simple question would open up this wonderful can of worms?  I'm grateful.

I could not have foreseen that by the end of the year, my blog would have over 10,000 page views.  I'm astounded.

World. Wide. Web.  Users from over 30 countries have viewed my blog!  I'm humbled.

Pasta With Broccoli And Chicken, For Sheila

It's only right that the post that started it all is the one that gets the most page views.  And looking at this God-awful blurry picture from my first post makes me realize that maybe my photography has improved........because my most recent pictures are merely awful.  What do you think?

Audience

Not surprisingly, the majority of  page views are from the U.S.
I do find it surprising, however.....
that the second-greatest amount of page views come from Russia!

My Personal Favorite Keyword Search

Not surprisingly, the most popular keyword search phrase was "whatsfordinnerfran."  The list includes every phrase used by anyone who stumbled onto this blog through a keyword search.  Some are pretty basic, like "glazed pecans" or "what to cook on a hot summer night."

And then there's "8 month old puppy loves mozzarella sticks."  Huh?  I have no idea what that person was looking for, but they must have been surprised when my post forProsciutto/Mozzarella Asparagus Wraps popped up.  "8 month old puppy loves mozzarella sticks" gets my vote for the best keyword search.  {And yes, I couldn't help myself, I just had to google "8 month old puppy loves mozzarella sticks" for myself.  I was hoping that maybe it would lead me to a fabulous viral video, but.......no.  It just leads to this li'l ol' blog, and to everyone who stumbles upon this blog, I'm thankful.  :)}
