Weekend In Ogunquit

With Caitie home for her fall break a couple of weeks ago, we decided to take off for a few days for a much-needed mini-break.
Okay.  Maybe it wasn't beach weather, but it was still nice to hang out by the ocean.
Bundled up against the autumn chill, we took a walk along the Marginal Way.  Caitie was the only one who had the foresight to bring gloves.  Erin's coffee kept her warm.  I kinda froze.

We marveled at all the daring souls who climbed the boulders to leave stacks of rocks and pebbles.

All libraries should look as charming as this one does.

Wandering down to Perkins Cove.

Reading every plaque on every bench that we passed.

Unanimously deciding that this dedication was our favorite.

Maybe someday my family will dedicate a bench in my memory!  I hope they put a haiku on my plaque.  Something like:

We have a great hunch
She's enjoying a rum punch
This very moment.

Referring to Barnacle Billy's Rum Punch, of course.

It's hard for me to decide what I liked best about brunch on Sunday.....the lobster & asparagus omelette

or the cute buzzer that they gave us when we were waiting for our table.  Okay, the omelette wins.

Gus had a little mini-break of his own, staying with my parents in Connecticut.

 Lounging around.

Gazing out at the ocean.

Walking out in the backyard, but not too close to the ocean, because he's afraid of water.

Perhaps one of these days he will conquer his fear.

OK-time to start making our storms preps, your next!
